The Uniform Project: Our Vision

Australian children spend over 40 hours each week in their school uniforms.

Yet most uniforms are made from 100% polyester - a plastic fabric derived from fossil fuels. This plastic contains bisphenols, endocrine disrupting phlatates and more. Polyester also uses harsh azo dyes for colour, containing formadelhyde.

The Uniform Project was created to offer schools a healthier, more sustainable alternative.

Natural, Certified Fabrics

We work exclusively with the best natural fabrics, certified organic, plastic-free and natural dyes.

Examples include:

  • 100% GOTS certified Organic Cotton polos, shorts and dresses
  • 100% Cotton bucket hats, hoodies and shorts, Oeko-Tex 100 certified.
  • 100% organic cotton shirts, sports tees and shorts.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified – tested to ensure they are free from harmful chemicals

Hypoallergenic – gentle on sensitive skin

Breathable and temperature regulating – helping kids stay comfortable throughout the school day

Machine washable and durable – designed for everyday school life

Plastic-free – no polyester or nylon

Why Choose Us

We're uniform partners and mums that care about the fabric our kids are wearing, and the devastation that the apparel industry is having on the environment. We offer:

  • Subsidised pricing to make high quality natural fibres affordable from $20 AUD for a polo t-shirt and $15 AUD for shorts.
  • Expert uniform consultancy to guide schools through design and production
  • Simple uniform shop management, including online stores
  • Transparent supply chains and certified fabrics

We also support schools with clear communication materials, helping explain the health, comfort and environmental benefits of their new uniforms to families to encourage them to make the switch.
